2025 – another record breaking year
Increased interest from international investors, restricted housing supply and sustained levels of domestic demand ensured that the Algarve continued to outperform the wider Portuguese and other key European property markets in 2025.
Prices in prime luxury locations, such as Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo, increased by over 9% in 2025 and over 80% of residential transactions in these exclusive areas were completed by international investors and foreign buyers. In 2025, foreign direct investment into Portugal exceeded €13 billion, representing annual growth of 19%, with €3.5 billion allocated directly to real estate (Banco de Portugal). There are now over 55,000 millionaires in Portugal with an estimated $8 billion in total investable wealth (Henley Private Wealth Migration Report, 2025).
